must be at least 14 thousand characters and not exceed 10 pages.

The total number of words in the text can be found through the Word Menus ("File" - "View document properties"). In case the scientific article’s exceeding size is justified by the author and cannot be reduced the decision of publication is made at a meeting of the editorial board on recommendation of the reviewer.

The file with the text of the article uploaded to the submission system must contain all the information for publication (including figures and tables). The maximum number of figures or photographs included in the article is 6. Figures or photographs marked with letters a, b, c, ... are considered to be one figure.

THE ARTICLE SHOULD INCLUDE:

  • UDC index;
  • title;
  • surname and initials of the author (s) in Russian and English, including the academic degree;
  • the name of the organization (place of study, work);
  • an abstract in Russian and English (100-150 words);
  • keywords allowing to index the article;
  • the main body including graphics and other illustrative material (if any);
  • list of references;
  • list of agreed notations and abbreviations (if any).

ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTS

When submitting a manuscript to the editorial office of the journal, it is necessary to additionally upload files containing scanned images of completed and certified accompanying documents (*.pdf format). The accompanying documents include an expert opinion on the article (signed by the expert commission of the organization, indicating that the article does not contain information prohibited for publication), information about the author (s) with the all co-authors signatures according to the form provided below.

After uploading the main file of the manuscript accompanying documents together with the article must be immediately sent to the editorial office.

The article must meet the following requirements:

MARGINS Top – 30mm, bottom – 20 mm, left – 20 mm, right – 20 mm.

ARTICLE TITLE (in Russian and English). Times New Roman, 10 pt, bold, capital letters, centered, single spacing.

AUTHORS (in Russian and English).

Initials, surname of the author (s): Times New Roman, 10 pt, bold italics, capital letters, centered, single spacing. Full name in English must correspond to the author’s full name given in their foreign passport or in the same way as in the articles previously published in foreign journals. Authors who publish for the first time and do not have a foreign passport should use the BGN/PCGN transliteration standard.

Academic degree and title: Times New Roman 10 pt, bold italics, capital letters, centered, single spacing.

The official FULL name of the institution (without abbreviations) in brackets: Times New Roman, 10 pt, bold italics, capital letters, centered, single spacing. The official name of the institution in English can be found on the website eLibrary.ru.

If the article is written by authors from different institutions it is necessary to put the name of the author next to the corresponding institution.

ABSTRACT (in Russian and English). Times New Roman, 10pt, italics, single spacing. Paragraph-10 mm. The English version of the article must fully comply with the Russian text.

KEY WORDS (in Russian and English) - up to 10 words facilitating the article indexing in search engines. Times New Roman,10 pt, italics, single spacing. Paragraph - 10 mm.

Example:

MAIN BODY. Times New Roman, 10 pt, single spacing, paragraph- 10 mm.

The main body should have the following sections: 

  • introduction (relevance, purpose and objectives of the study );
  • main part (literature review on the issue under study; methodology – description of the research tools, data collection and methods of analysis, research sampling);
  • conclusion (the most significant results and their interpretation, conclusions).

FORMULAS are created with the help of MathType using the same font and size as for the article text. Additional spacing above the formula is from 6 to 10 pt. Formulas are given in brackets and numbered in Arabic numerals along the right page border.

THE DIMENSION OF ALL PHYSICAL QUANTITIES must correspond to the SI (International System of Units)

AGREED NOTATIONS are determined directly in the text of the article. It is forbidden to use any abbreviated words except for the generally accepted ones (i.e., etc.).

TABLES are embed in the text after their first mentioning by the author or are placed on the next page after the reference to them. The information given in the tables should differ from that presented in the graphs.

Table headings are left-aligned (Times New Roman, 10 pt, roman type) and are put without hyphenation. Tabular data are either centered or left-aligned (TimesNewRoman, 9pt, roman type). If the table is taken from a literary source reference to it is given in square brackets below the table heading. Notes are added below the table on the next line with a paragraph. After the word "Note" (italics) a dash is put and the essence of a note is set out with a capital letter (10pt).

ILLUSTRATIONS are embed in the text after their first mentioning by the author or are placed on the next page after the reference to them. Each illustration must have a caption (Times New Roman, 9pt, bold), containing all structural figure elements which are numerated, lettered or have other identification marks. Explication (if any) is placed above the figure name in the center without indentation, there is no colon at the end of the name, symbol explanations are given in their order and are separated by a semicolon. If illustration is taken from a literary source reference to it is given in square brackets below the illustration name. It is forbidden to hyphenate figure and explication names.

Figures are created with the help of MS Office tools. Graphs and diagrams are presented as images and are created with the help of MS Office tools. Times New Roman, 9 pt, normal is used to name the coordinate axes and indicate their dimensions. Photos must be black and white, contrast. Photos must be uploaded as JPG, Tiff, BMP, PCX with image resolution > 300 dpi. or as EMF.

REFERENCES.

Main requirements

Times New Roman 10pt, normal, automatic numbering, no paragraph. References must be given in the order in which they appear in the text and placed in square brackets, for example: [1, p. 12] or [1]. When citing more than one reference at one place: [1, p. 12; 5. c. 89–90] or [1–8].

In accordance with international ethics of scientific publications authors are recommended to use self-citation of no more than 10% (in the references). It is allowed to cite articles from academic and scientific journal “Vestnik of Polotsk State University. Part D "in the amount of no more than 30% of the total number of reference sources.

Only peer-reviewed literature should be included in the reference list.

Bibliographic references are introduced in accordance with GOST 7.32-2017 . References are cited in their original language. Examples of literature arrangement (.pdf)

DOI (special numeric identifier of the article in CrossRef system)

References to journal articles must have DOIs. The DOI of the article can be checked on the website CrossRef (https://www.crossref.org/guestquery). To get the DOI it is necessary to enter the title of the article in English into the search box. The English title of the Russian-language source articles can be found on ELIBRARY.RU (https://www.elibrary.ru/querybox.asp). In case the article does not have DOI it can be found by its URL.

It should be noted that not all publications have DOI, because DOI is an identifier for electronic documents. For example, DOI is not assigned to printed books which don’t have electronic versions. If the article has DOI it should be written after pages.

FOOTNOTES (EXPLANATORY NOTES).

Abstracts, dissertations, standards, websites, statistical reports, articles in socio-political newspapers, normative and legislative acts, dictionaries, encyclopedias and other reference books, reports, archival documents are included in the form of footnotes. Footnotes must be paginated, consecutively numbered and drawn up as a note in accordance with clause 6 of  7.208-2008 System of standards on information, librarianship and publishing. Bibliographic link. General requirements and rules for drawing up. The link between the footnote and the text is made with a footnote mark typed on the upper line of the font. “References, Footnotes” menu of the Microsoft Word is used to make sub-lines. References cited in footnotes are not included in the reference list.
