THE USAGE OF PARALINGUISTIC MEANS OF COMMUNICATION IN TEACHING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (AS AN EXAMPLE AT BSATU)

Abstract
The article deals with the problem of the usage of paralinguistic means in teaching a foreign language (phonetic, kinetic, graphic). The article sresses the importance of this problem in the logic of the linguistic studies of such aspects as the interraction of verbal and non-verbal language factors, the place and role of non-verbal speech phenomena in the act of communication, etc. The following functions are discussed: a) the achievement of communication not being ambiguous due to the general and polysemantic character of language means proper; b) the compensation of eliminated excessive language means in the real communication process. Verbal and non-verbal communicative systems that are functioning in close contact and supplement each other, often replacing each other due to similar basic functions and different structural and systematic characteristics of verbal and non-verbal subjects are investigated.
