Abstract

The article presents the study of the formation of the tertiary sector of the US economy. The factors and tendencies of the development of this sector, the features of the functioning of services at the current stage were analyzed, the contribution of the tertiary sector to the US economy during the global crisis of 2008–2009 as well as the restoration of GDP growth in the post-crisis period are given. The main directions of the new policy of the US government in connection with the taken course for reindustrialization are analyzed. The analysis of foreign trade in services in the USA, features of export and import of services are given, the basic directions of export and import are revealed. Prospects and priority areas for the development of the service sector in the United States are outlined. The study was carried out on the basis of official statistics reflecting the level of development of the tertiary sector.
