Abstract

The article examines the issues of nature of international obligations in the field of human rights in the context of global climate change in terms of the sources of legal regulation of such obligations. The need for a kind of cataloging of sources is related to the fact that, firstly, the question arises as to which documents of the vast array of human rights law contain obligations relevant to global climate change. Secondly, a reference to human rights obligations can be found in climate agreements, which expands the list of sources by international environmental law. Thirdly, given the increasing prevalence of a human rights-based approach, attention to the relevant issues may also be given in the provisions of other areas of international law containing norms aimed at regulating climate change response. Thus, in order to identify the list of sources of human rights obligations in the context of climate change, it is necessary to study a wide range of documents belonging to various branches of international law, which is what the given article is devoted to.
