Abstract

Based on the results obtained during a study of legislation regulating the relations of participants in joint home ownership, as well as existing domestic and international scientific literature, this article analyzes views on the development of owner organizations (hereinafter referred to as OS) in the Republic of Belarus. The activities of these organizations are one of the most popular methods of managing citizens' common property. However, in parallel with the wide-spread use of OS, there has been an increase in the registration of crimes committed by their officials, most often involving theft through abuse of office. Based on the above, the author analyzed the existing research findings on the investigation of these thefts, identified potential challenges for the criminal prosecution agency, noted positive trends in improving the provisions of the Housing Code of the Republic of Belarus (here in after referred to as HC), and, consequently, recognized the need to develop forensic recommendations for the investigation of this type of criminal activity.
