REPRESENTING CULTURE IN A LANGUAGE WORLD VIEW. THE PHONETIC (SOUND) ASPECT

Abstract
Numerous research has proved convincingly that users of different languages cut reality in a different way. Linguistic means of all levels are believed to be involved in the creation of any language world view. Yet, textbooks on cross-cultural communication and cultural studies consider mainly lexical and sometimes fragmentarily grammatical aspects of culturally specific language world views, completely leaving out their phonetic or sound constituents. Meanwhile the latter play an important role in both Language learning and acquisition of a new Language world view, coming up not only as imitation or onomatopoeic words but also as their numerous metaphoric derivatives and as constituents of various collocations and colligations.
