Abstract

The article presents the comprehensive study of the genre of standard in English-language infocommunication discourse, focusing on its compositional-structural and communicative-pragmatic organization. The functional specificity of the key structural components of standards is examined, along with the lexico-grammatical means used to implement normative and directive functions, including specialized terminology, the modal verb shall, passive constructions, nominalization, and depersonalization strategies. The study demonstrates that the architectonics of the normative text shapes a stable model of professional communication, within which the standard functions not only as a tool for regulating technical requirements but also as a mechanism for the institutionalization of engineering activity, ensuring the coordination of professional actions and the reproducibility of technical procedures in the global infocommunication space.
