Abstract
The article deals with neoromanticism as an artistic and aesthetic movement, which reproduced the philosophical and psychological atmosphere of the end of the ХIХth and the beginning of the XXth century in Slavic culture. Greater resort to the term “neoromanticism” by Ukrainian and Belarussian critics is explained by their attempt to emphasize the peculiarity of Slavic modernism, to pay attention to its romantic component, and to its singularity in context of classical West European modernism, to dissociate it from decadence, negatively evaluated in these literatures. The conceptualization of the Ukrainian neoromanticism is expressively reproduced in literary and critical articles by Lesya Ukrainka. They analyse the origin and the nature of the above mentioned literary movements, consider their general tendencies within the European literary process, and the peculiarities of the way they are displayed in Ukrainian literature. Anton Lutskevich defines neoromanticism as a general name for Belarussian literary modernistic movements and marks out traditionality as its main trait. Сonceptualization of neoromantic hero is also an important topic in the literary and critical articles by Lesya Ukrainka and Anton Lutskevich.
