ATTEMPTS TO CREATE HISTORICAL DESCRIPTIONS OF THE PARISHES OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH IN BELARUS IN THE MIDDLE ХІХ – ХХ CENTURIES

Abstract
We consider the attempts of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus in the middle of the XIX – XX centuries. reflected through the special historical sources of their historical relationship with the social and cultural life of the local population. Stand out measures to create in the bosom of this institution works that shed light on the history of small administrative units – parishes. The first step can be called a decree in 1849 Vilna Bishop V. Žilinski, which obliged all the abbots fill out a questionnaire of 10 questions. Profile called "Chronicle of the parish church." The second attempt took place in the early twentieth century. and is a proposal to create an anonymous priest historical narratives that reflect the daily life through the prism of the church. The third step to the creation of works on the history of parishes called developed in 1926. The questionnaire with 101 issues that were the basis for the creation of a number of Western Belarus priests in the 1930s. narratives. These narratives were called “parish chronicles” and “monographs parishes”. Analyzes the sources, which form the basis of these documents, the conclusion of their value for research on the history of Belarus.
