FORMING OF GENERALIZED SEMANTICS OF SECOND TRANSITION COMPONENT (ON THE MATERIAL OF GERMAN ADJECTIVES)

Abstract

The article deals with one of the semantics formation mechanisms of the second transition components of ad-jectives, particularly with the extension of their meaning in comparison with the meaning of a freely functioning corre-late. The methodology of the frame analysis allows formalizing and explaining the semantics formation of the second transition components. If the structures of the knowledge fixed by the corresponding adjectives are presented in the form of a frame consisting of slots, then the semantics of the second transition components is formed on the basis of extending of thematic fillers property of certain slots such as, the object and the subject. The second transition compo-nents, which demonstrate all two types of meaning extensions, are the central representatives of the category of the second transition components obtaining qualities of the word-formation units and gaining suffix status.
