Abstract

The analysis of the activities of public organizations in the territory of the Polesie Voivodeship in the Second Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1926 – 1939 is presented. Based on the information of exclusive documents and materials of the State archive of the Brest region, the postulates of Soviet historiography about the anti-Belarusian policy of the Polish authorities in this territory in the period under review are refuted. Civil society institutions, with universal values at the forefront, played an important role in helping the population of the region to solve economic, social, cultural and educational problems.
