THE WORK OF JANKA KUPALA IN 1903-1907 AND POLISH LITERATURE

Abstract
The creative heritage of Janka Kupala includes Polish-language poems created by the poet at the beginning of his creative path. The article examines the reasons for the poet's turn to Polish expression, the history of the creation of Polish-language texts, and their thematic focus. Autobiographical materials are analyzed, which testify to the origins of the poet's constant curiosity about Polish literature. The continuity of themes and motifs of Kupala's Polish-language poetry and his Belarusian-language work of 1903–1907 is determined. The motive structure of individual poems is studied, Kupala's turn to translations of Polish poetry into Belarusian is substantiated, and the choice of authors and texts is analyzed.
