SELECTION OF THE OPTIMAL PARAMETERS OF THE SURFACE LAYERS OF THE STRUCTURE TRIBOSYSTEMS TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE GRADIENT

Abstract
The practical application of methodology to predict the optimal structure of the surface layers, formed during the operations of tribological conjunction elements, is addressed. The technique is based on the determination of the mean value of surface layers micro-hardness of the material at some local area of deformed by friction contact surfaces up to 80 mkm depth. The possibility of predicting the wear of contact surfaces, under rolling with varying degrees of slipping, from the value of the effective (“Integral”) micro-hardness, taking into account the micro-hardness of the surface of the metal layers in the process of structural adaptability at friction and gradient distribution of micro-hardness depth of the deformable layer is presented. The correlation is established between the wear of tribological conjunction elements and micro-hardness values of both tribosystems surface layers and its gradient distribution and allows to develop practical recommendations for modification of technological modes of elements of friction units.
