IMPROVING THE DESIGN OF BLOCK-MODULAR FACE MILLS BASED ON THE RESEARCH OF CUTTING PROCESS CHARACTERISTICS

Abstract
The problem of improving the design of block-modular face mills based on research of cutting process characteristics is investigated. The results of experimental research of temperature in the cutting zone, noise and vibrations of the technological system, roughness of the treated surface depending on the cutting conditions are presented. Based on the obtained data an experimental model (layout) of the milling cutter using modern 3D-printing technology for high-precision machining of flat surfaces was made.
