COMPOSITE MATERIALS WITH BIMODAL STRUCTURE BASED ON MICRO- AND NANOPOWDERS OF DIAMOND

Abstract
It is shown that the introduction of the diamond nanopowders into the initial mixture containing of diamond micropowders, as well as modification of micro- and diamond nanopowders by the carbide-forming elements (silicon, boron), allows to reduce the level of sintering modes (temperature, pressure) and to form the bimodal structure of a polycrystalline composite superhard material with enhanced physico-mechanical characteristics (density, hardness, crack resistance). One of the rational areas of application of diamond composites with a bimodal structure is the adjustmenting diamond tools (pencils, needles).
