Abstract

Technology application of protective coatings by chemical-thermal treatment was used in industry. One of the most common methods – diffusion chrome delivers quality-based layers of chromium carbides with universal protective properties. These layers reduce friction and increase wear resistance, corrosion and cavitation resistance. This process also provides increased resistance to gas corrosion of steel (scaling resistance) at temperatures up to 800 °C. Known compositions of mixtures for the diffusion of chromium plating on the basis of ferrochrome. Higher economic indicators have metallothermal mixture using as a reducing agent of aluminum powder. Logical continuation of improving economic performance metallothermic use mixtures of chromium plating is to develop and use as a reductant cheaper and affordable powder or crystalline silicon more economical alloys, such silicocalcium.
