Abstract

The article examines the worship and rituals in Zoroastrianism as the most important part of the religious life of the inhabitants of ancient and modern Iran, India and other regions where adherents of this religion live. The questions of the origin and development of these phenomena are analyzed. Numerous examples show the diversity and importance of the system of ceremonies and rituals in ancient and modern societies. It is noted that the activities and heritage of wanderers are significant material for the study of the culture of Iran and India. The most visited religious sites are distinguished: first of all, sacred temples and natural objects. For tens of thousands of Zoroastrians, a reverent attitude towards objects of worship serves as the fulfillment of the will of their ancestors. The purpose of the study is to identify the features of pilgrimage and rituals in the religion of the followers of Zarathushtra, to show the influence of historical, geographical, cultural factors on their formation. This work can be useful for establishing friendly relations with the peoples of Iran and India, as well as representatives of the Zoroastrian communities living in other countries of the world.
