Abstract
The features of the national consciousness of students are analyzed in the article. The main aspects of the formation of the national consciousness of students are also shown there. At the same time the special role of education and upbringing in the formation of national identity are underlined. Exactly educational institutions should act as leading means of national and cultural revival of the society. The educational process should focus on the formation of the best qualities of the national character, the rise of the level of national consciousness of the individual. Significant resources of the formation of national consciousness have public youth associations, which feature is that they allow you to include a person in the public relations and form not only proactive approach to life, but also social responsibility for the processes that take place in various spheres of human activity.
