THE IMPROVEMENT OF EFFICIENCY OF FUNCTIONING OF WAREHOUSES OF FINISHED PRODUCTS IN SUPPLY CHAINS OF AN ENTERPRISE OF THE PETROCHEMICAL COMPLEX

Abstract

The article examines the essence of a warehouse as an economic category, classification signs of warehouses and their functions, logistics operations performed in warehouses of an enterprise, the place and role of computer information technologies in the enterprise’s warehousing and reflects the indicators for evaluating the economic efficiency of warehouses in the supply chains of the enterprise’s products. Are given the results of the research of the functioning system of finished goods warehouses of one of the large enterprises of the petrochemical complex of the Republic of Belarus, dealing with the processing of raw materials, glassmaking, fiberglass production and its textile processing, finishing of glass fabrics, manufacturing of glass plastics, etc. The main problems that impede the efficiency of the functioning of finished goods warehouses in the supply chains and the logistics system of an enterprise, such as the inefficient use of warehouse space, the use of diesel forklifts in warehouses for loading and unloading operations, significant time spent on finding the necessary goods in finished goods warehouses are identified. The ways of solving the identified problems are proposed to improve the efficiency of the functioning of finished goods warehouses, improve the quality of customer service and ensure the reliability of supply chain management and the enterprise’s logistics system as a whole.
