SMALL- AND MEDIUM SCALE BUSINESS IN BALTIC REGION COUNTRIES: POSSIBILITY OF EXPERIENCE APPLICATION IN THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS

Abstract
Nowadays the Baltic region is one of the most dynamically developing regions of the world. The rates of economic development in this region are higher than in the most developed European countries. The region is characterized by a rapid welfare growth which is reached due to service trade development, scientifically oriented industry, good infrastructure and high employment. The main characteristic of the region is a very high activity of the small and medium scale enterprises. In the article the authors allocate the features of small and medium scale enterprises functioning in this region, they analyze the quantity and quality characteristics, the main directions of the state regulation and MSE support. And after that the review of the MSE development and support in Belarus is given. They believe that studying of the Baltic region experience will allow to reveal new possibilities, prospects of MSE development in Belarus and it will definitely increase the competitive ability of the whole country.
