Анатацыя
У артыкуле разглядаюцца проза, нататкі і эсэ У. Фолкнера, прысвечаныя Першай сусветнай вайне. Адзначаецца, што ваенная тэматыка стала скразной у творчасці пісьменніка, які не меў баявога вопыту. Досвед некамбатанта адбіўся ў мастацкай спадчыне аўтара. Ён ў меншай ступені імкнуўся да ўзнаўлення франтавога антуражу і ўзброенай барацьбы на полі бою, але засяродзіўся на постацях персанажа-цывільнага і вайскоўца, які вярнуўся дадому на Поўдзень ЗША, дзе актуальнымі былі згадкі пра Грамадзянскую вайну. Аўтар пераасэнсаваў матыў страчанасці, звярнуў увагу на матывы вайны-кантынуума і вайны-прыбытковай справы.
