IRRATIONAL ATTITUDES, GENDER STEREOTYPES OF PERSONALITY AND ATTITUDE TO BODY ”I” (ON THE EXAMPLE OF OLDER ADOLESCENTS)

Abstract
The article analyzes the relationship between irrational attitudes, gender stereotypes and attitudes towards the bodily “I” in older adolescents. The study revealed the relationship between some indicators of irrational attitudes and attitudes towards their body and health in adolescents. It has been established that the higher the irrational attitudes of catastrophization, irrationality of thinking, obligations towards other people in adolescents, the lower the indicators of health orientation, physical education orientation, positive assessment of one's health and satisfaction with parts of one's body. Adolescents with a high level of tolerance for frustration better assess their physical fitness and health, and those adolescents who are more susceptible to stereotypes about gender differences in professional activities are more focused on their appearance.
