Abstract
The results of a study to determine the main and secondary factors affecting student involvement in physical education classes are presented. A classification of factors into main and secondary has been carried out, their hierarchy and interrelation have been determined. Significant differences in dominant motives, barriers and preferences have been identified and analyzed. Practical recommendations for increasing students' motivation for physical education classes have been developed based on the analysis of the results of passing the standards of the State Physical Culture and Health Complex "Ready for Labor and Defense" (SPCHC). The relationships between the field of study and the level of physical fitness have been identified. Targeted measures to optimize physical education, taking into account the identified profilespecific problems, are proposed.
