INVESTIGATION OF POLIMERS SURFACE MODIFIED BY IRRADIATION

Abstract
The modification of polyimide, polyetileneterephtalate and polyetheretherketone films surface at the γ-irradiation and Ni+, Ag+, Au+, Fe+ and B+ 30…100 keV ions implantation in the fluence range 1*1015… 1,5*1017 cm–2 have been investigated by the atomic force microscopy. The formation of single cone off with height up to 80 nm and diameters up to 400 nm on the polymer films surface was observed at low implantation doze. Their formation is due to the predominant localization of radiation-chemical processes near the defect structure (the interface) polymer. The formation of these defects outside the implantation range is caused by the transfer of excitation and/ or migration of holes from the field ion track.
