THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INDICATORS OF ATTACHMENT IN CLOSE AND ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS

Abstract
The purpose of the study is to identify the nature of the relationship between the indicators of attachment in close and romantic relationships among students. The questionnaire of attachment to close people by N. V. Sabelnikova and D. V. Kashirsky, a multi-questionnaire measuring romantic attachment in adults by T. L. Kryukova and O. A. Ekimchik were used. Indicators of attachment to loved ones include the variables “Avoidance” and “Anxiety”. Indicators of attachment in romantic relationships include the variables “Desire for rapprochement”, “Frustration”, “Self-support”, “Ambivalence”, “Trust, confidence”, “Jealousy, fear of abandonment”, “Bonding with a partner”. Spearman's correlation analysis method was used to process the results.
The study revealed the following significant moderate and strong correlations of attachment variables in close and romantic relationships: 1) the “Avoidance” indicator reveals positive correlations with the indicators “Frustration”, “Self–support”, “Ambivalence”, as well as negative ones with the indicators “Desire for rapprochement”, “Trust, confidence”; 2) the indicator “Anxiety” forms positive correlations with the indicators “Frustration”, “Ambivalence”, “Jealousy, fear of abandonment”, “Bonding with a partner”.
