INTERRELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NARCISSISM AND SUBJECTIVE EVALUATION OF INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS AMONG STUDENTS

Abstract
The interrelations between narcissism and subjective evaluation of interpersonal relations among students are analyzed. The aim of the study is to determine the nature of the relationship between indicators of narcissism (grandiose and vulnerable) and subjective evaluation of interpersonal relations (tension, alienation, conflict, aggression) among students. The following methods were used: "Five-Factor Narcissism Questionnaire" (N. Glover, J. D. Miller), "Subjec-tive Evaluation of Interpersonal Relations" (S. V. Dukhnovsky). Factor analysis (principal component method, Varimax rotation) was applied for processing the results.
Four factors of the relationship between narcissism variables and the subjective evaluation of interpersonal relationships were identified. It was found that grandiose narcissism is associated with exhibitionism, authoritarianism, manipulativeness, arrogance, reactive anger, conflict-proneness, and aggression in relationships (factors 1 and 4). Vulnerable narcissism is associated with shame, need for admiration, distrust, neuroticism, tension, and alienation in relationships (factors 2 and 3). Individual variables (indifference, extraversion) manifest differently in the two types of narcissists. Based on the analysis of the results, psychological profiles of students with grandiose and vulnerable narcissism were created.
